Take a boat trip to visit Thanh Chuong tea island

Thanh Chuong Tea Island is not a well-known destination even though local people have started growing tea on the large and small islands in this area for decades and the quality of the tea is excellent. Thanks to the beautiful and favorable terrain, the tea plants grow healthily without pesticides and stimulants. The fertile soil and the cool water here also help the dried tea leaves have a bitter taste but not acrid, but very mild.

Going along Ho Chi Minh road, through Thanh An and Thanh Chuong communes, you go about 200 meters to the tea island. We stayed at Laos Wind Eco Lodge located in a very nice location, from which we just needed to step on the boat, and after 5 minutes, we could reach the big island. I’d never seen a dense starry sky for long until arriving at Laos Wind at 12 pm. Even though we were very tired after a long day in the car, we still could not stop our desire to see the stars, so we went together to the tea hill just below the stilt house. In the morning, we met the owner who had an impressive lifestyle. He took care of the house, cooked, and took guests on tours, so free and easy.

From Laos Wind Eco Lodge, we were taken by the owner to visit a tea island on a boat. On cold autumn days, it’s awesome to take a boat to visit tea islands, and my words just fail to describe such feeling!

The rows of tea were straight and green, making us excited, even though it was noontime and it was so hot. On the island, there are some beverage vendors, so you can walk around and stop by for tea, eat grapefruit, and buy the bags of tea grown and packaged here to bring that elegant taste back to town, use the hot cups of tea and green memory to quench the thirst, to put your soul at ease and to temporarily forget the chaos.

If you have time, you can linger for lunch, take a nap and watch the sunset on the tea island which would be memorable!
