Advice

This afternoon, a friend reminded me of my advice (for her) to just fall in love with that man.

She was once married, but at that time she hadn’t forgotten her ex. Although the couple divorced because of a, b, c, x, y, z reasons, in which, the intervention of the family making the distance between the couple bigger and bigger is the most plausible and obvious reason; but somewhere in the midst of their quarrels, there was always a shadow of her ex. Unknowingly, through me, the two of them met again.

(It’s strange, my personality is straightforward, simple, I don’t like dramas, but somehow I always get stuck in dramatic stories that can be written into novels or made into movies.)

That guy, at that time, was the lover of another lady. I know him. We talked a few times, went out with their group a couple of times. He is a good person. Maybe, he is a lonely star in the vast galaxy, so he unconsciously uses love to fill the void in his deep mind.

When my friend broke up with her husband, the other man also broke up with his lover. Thus, I told her, if she couldn’t forget him, she should try once to see what this relationship would be like. I told her not to deny her pity feelings about that person, then suffering herself and making the one who loves her suffer. She decided to listen to me (she said so). Actually, I know, that time, she decided to listen to her heart.

People are strange! Sometimes we need to take advice from others and in the end … we just take the advice we feel most plausible, most convincing. If she didn’t want to, I bet 10 people like me would not be able to force her.

She said, that time, she and he burned the flame of love till the last ashes. They burned it once so they would no longer regret anything. By the way, she introduced her new lover to us. Not sure how this love story will end, but at least, she is having fun.

If someone comes to me for advice, of course, I will tell them the sincere words from my own thoughts, but it probably doesn’t matter if anyone follows my advice or not. As a friend, standing in front of a friend who is in need of help, even if I know for sure that they will not listen, I will… just advise them.

Who knows, maybe that person’s heart already has the answer, they just need an encouragement to give them more courage. Sometimes, a piece of advice that doesn’t go well with their will can help them discern which side their heart is on, by looking directly at the opposition to the other. After all, the person who makes the decisions and is responsible for all the decisions is none other than themself.

P/s: I have not asked for her permission to tell this story because I know she will not care about this. How do people know who she is? Actually, anyone can be her.
