The house with two dogs

“- Honey, can we have a dog!?

– Ok, fine!

Then one day, at 10 p.m., he was so excited that the two of us drove to Hoc Mon to pick up the dog. The road was dark and empty when I was sitting behind my husband and using google map, a guy passed by and stole my phone without saying anything. I (as always) whispered into my husband’s ear:

– Honey, he took the phone.

– Where? Whose?

– Yours.

– Yeah, whatever. I’m busy picking up my dog.

((((((-:

It’s real that we have never felt sad about losing things. Losing is losing. If we lose one thing, we will have another. Losing the phone, we will have the dog haha.

Anyway, after almost 1 hour of struggling to hold the 30kg “dumbbell” on our old bike, welcome home, babe!”

That was the story of two years ago when we just picked up Sun. Now, “Mr. Sun” is grown up, traveling through Vietnam for a long trip, hunting in the woods, fighting with village dogs in the Northwestern mountains and forests, playing and losing his “brother” and feared frantically, almost getting hit by a car because of running after his girlfriend across the street, and experiencing many happy and sad stories … “He” is a very affectionate, childish, vulnerable dog who likes to eat bread, pasta, cookies, even though his body isn’t small, and everyone has to watch out when seeing him ???

If someone asks me if they should raise a dog, I always say that they should if they have a good condition. Having one dog (or more) is very fun. The condition here is a comfortable space for the dogs to chill, and time to cuddle them. Because dogs are almost like babies, they need care and love to grow up healthily and happily. Even if it’s a pet, it’s a living being. If we have accepted the responsibility of nurturing the dogs, we should also try to create the best environment for them. Like setting up a house or planting a tree, having pets in the house also helps us to practice the habit of taking care of our surroundings. When we are good at it, we will dare to think about giving birth to a baby. Sometimes, the two of us are still so childish.

Loved so much, this close friend creates lively, fresh energy for the house. So, every day, we all caress, hug Sun in our arms and say “love Sun”, believing that Sun also feels that, he wiggles his tail, butts his head against our forehead or jumps to hug us. I love him very much. We also raise Share, who is not a pitbull like the Sun but Alaska with a completely different personality, with a long story. Share was taken from abroad to Vietnam since he was small, then abandoned by his previous owner, living on the street with some hotel security guards, being so thin, and having scabies. Our friend nearby felt sorry for the dog, so he asked to take care of him and let him see the doctor to heal his skin. But because he was treated badly for a long time, he lost his faith in humans, he tends to irritate and growl that no one dares to come too close to him.

When he first got to our home, Share refused to be Sun’s younger brother, so the two guys fought all the time. Then, seeing Sun catching mouse skillfully and losing Sun a few times of fighting, Share accepted his fate to be Sun’s younger brother. Share is like a ferocious wild dog. We have to use a few whips (because in the experience of dog trainers, the breeder has to prove that they are tougher – to become the leader to make the dogs obey). Besides, we had to approach slowly by talking, taking care, learning about his interests, and giving him time to feel love. After a few months, Share was back to the original of a dumb wolf like the Alaskan friends we often see online. He became trustful, and comfortable, not having to defend himself as before. Now, Share is as childish as Sun.

The daily schedule of the two dogs: In the morning, the two dogs eagerly followed my husband to go out to… drink coffee (haha), and chatted with our neighbor by his own language; After drinking coffee, Share will go into the house, go to the working room and scratch the door to ask for coming in to… supervise (becáue he is the boss), and to sleep (because we only turn on the air condition of this room during the day); in the afternoon, they take a tour to buy bread (both of them love Vietnamese bread sandwiched with pork patty and pâté); After dinner, they will go to the park next to our house to play for 1 hour; then come home and sleep happily at night and snore ?? Whenever we go on business trips and cannot take them with us, we ask our friends to take care of them.

We are not sure we have much experience raising a dog (or more) to share. We simply don’t see them as dogs, so they don’t think they’re dogs too. We are able to communicate and understand each other in a certain way despite language differences ?. However, we don’t call the dogs babies and act like their parents like many other families but consider them as family members, and the roles of these members should be “boss”. ??. There is a distance between “boss” and “employees” of course, but because “employees” love “boss”, “boss” also loves “employees”, the family is happy. In a nutshell, I just want to say one little thing: the key to open all relationships is love. Remember that!
